Hi,
A friend refered me to this site, hopefully I can get some good answers
and information here...
I've got a 24.5 Crestliner gas engine w/ DP outdrive.. The boat is in Cabo, Mexico and recently got some fishing line caught up in the outdrive
(DP290) and of course it damaged the oil seal nearest the anti corrision ring.
Where the larger shaft (front prop) goes into the propeller shaft housing.
I got some info from the parts dealer on how to change the seals but it really looks intense and several special tools are needed for the job...
Has anyone changed this seal in the past and is it that difficult ???
Pls advise...
PS: Since the boat is in Mexico I either have to fix it there or maybe bring back the lower unit to repair it ???
Thx for the help friends...
:dunno:
