Did me a stint in Florida back around '72 I guess it was. Quit school & bailed outta Michigan with 3 other buddies. 2 of them had their folks living down there in Jacksonville, so that's where we set up camp for about a 6 week stretch.

Nice, warm sunny tropical paradise...'til the rainy season set in. Ocean waters were warm where I got my 1st crack at body surfin' at Ponte Vietra beach. Then I saw all of the pics of the sharks on the Jacksonville wharf...yikes!!

Went to a friends pad off the beaten path & looked like 'Tarzan's Lair' with a labyrinth of rope bridges going from different rooms of the place. They'd sit out there in back & shoot gators in the nearby swamp.

Anyhow an experience to tell. Didn't do any fishin' back then, but hear you got one of the best fisheries around. Lookin' forward to some of your reports.
